Limited bottling to hit shelves in June

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Four Roses has chosen another of its ten Bourbon recipes that will add a new release to the distillery's limited edition single barrel collection.

Four Roses Single Barrel Limited Edition 2009 Release will be uncut and not chill filtered and is expected to reach package store shelves this June. The distillery will be able to produce up to 1,800 bottles, from the super select barrels, that will be distributed in select U.S. markets.

Master Distiller Jim Rutledge specially selected the sophisticated 11-year-old whiskey from amongst 10 recipes the distillery produces.

"We're excited to continue the tradition of releasing an exceptional, and very unique single barrel limited edition that consists of one recipe we feel exhibits various combinations of flavors and aromas pleasing to any Bourbon enthusiast," said Rutledge.

The 2009 Limited Edition Single Barrel gives off delicate hints of honeysuckle, roasted nuts, toffee and dark chocolate with a long, mellow finish of sweet fruit and honey.

Four Roses continues to receive praise from Bourbon connoisseurs and the spirits industry for the quality and taste of its premium single barrel product.

"I think what really contributes to the success we've had through the years is our unique ability to choose from 10 different recipes and hand select the one at the peak of maturity and that fits the standards for a special release such as this," added Rutledge.

About Four Roses Bourbon

Produced at a historic Spanish-mission style distillery in Lawrenceburg, Ky., Four Roses production dates to the 1860s and grew to become the top-selling Bourbon in the U.S. throughout the 1930s, '40s and '50s. In the late '50s, then-owner Seagram decided to market the brand solely overseas. Four Roses currently is the top-selling Bourbon brand in Japan and among the leading brands throughout western Europe.

Kirin Brewery bought Four Roses in 2002 and, at Master Distiller Jim Rutledge's urging, reintroduced it to America - starting in Kentucky. Four Roses Single Barrel has grown to become the top-selling single barrel Bourbon in Kentucky and Four Roses Small Batch, introduced three years ago, has also received industry praise.

Four Roses is now available in almost 20 U.S. states, and will continue expansion in other markets throughout 2009.
